Good day everyone. The South Dakota Symphony "Season of the Piano" campaign has started this week. So now I can post my contribution to the campaign!
Today's work is title "Boogie Woogie Time Machine". Eight artist from the Sioux Falls area were recruited to paint nine donated pianos to introduce the South Dakota Symphony's 2009-2010 season. Here you see my piano from the beginning and then the final painted piece. You can view all the other pianos, as well as artist bios at the SD Symphony web page. What a fun project to be involved in!
I'd like to thank Michelle Lavalee and Bethany Rasmussen with the SD Symphony for giving me the opportunity to participate in this project. And all their hard work organizing and putting this campaign together.
I'd also like to thank my co-workers Russ McKnight for his leadership, Jamey Zerr for his excellent web skills in designing the Symphony piano pages on short notice, and Doug Murano for his work shooting video, and great interview and writing skill collecting bios and other info on all the artists who painted pianos. What a great crew to work with.
Please visit the SD Symphony piano pages to see all the pianos and artist bios! And, if you have your picture taken with all nine pianos, you can receive two free symphony tickets! Check it out!
See you all tomorrow.
Chad
