July 11th, 2009, "Hesper" 40"x30" acrylic on canvas

This is one of my favorite abstracts from my last series. "Hesper" is a 40"x30" acrylic on canvas. I found the sienna, red and white combination to be very striking. Black was added for contrast and bring out texture. As with most of the paintings, I "pour and pull" the paint with different tools, and basically let the paint itself do the work. It's an exciting way to paint because you never really know what you're going to get. This technique allows me to create a more organic and natural feel in my paintings. This painting is now owned by Al Rapacz of Billings, Montana. Happy to see my work settling in Big Sky country!:)
